Why did the CPSC recall Workbless pressure washers for shock and electrocution risks?

A pressure washer plugs into a wall outlet and pushes water at high pressure. The CPSC has recalled two Workbless models because they ship without a built-in ground-fault circuit interrupter and with a power cord too short for safe outdoor use.

Two models share the same defect

The recall covers two models sold under the Workbless brand. Model WB0301 stands 27.24 inches high, 10.83 inches wide and 8.39 inches deep. Model WB0302 measures 29.57 inches high, 14.69 inches wide and 10.94 inches deep. Both are green and black. Each carries a label on the back with the brand name and model number. The product description is also printed there. Both ship with four quick connect nozzles and a foam cannon.

About 2,200 units were sold in the United States. Another 657 went to Canada. The notice does not say how many remain in use.

Why the missing GFCI and short cord create danger

A ground-fault circuit interrupter cuts power when current leaks to ground. Water creates a path for that leakage. Without the device built into the washer, a fault in the motor or pump can energize the metal frame or the water stream itself. The user becomes the ground path.

The power cord on these units is not long enough for typical outdoor outlets. A short cord invites an extension cord. Extension cords add connections and more exposure to moisture. They also add points where insulation can fail. The combination of a missing GFCI and a cord that encourages extension use creates the shock and electrocution hazard cited in the recall.

Stop using it now.

The refund requires destruction

Owners must stop using the washer immediately. They must contact Workbless for a full refund. The company asks for proof of destruction: cut the unplugged power cord in half, photograph the damaged unit, and email the image to service@workbless.net. After that, dispose of the remains.

Contact options include email and a toll-free line at 833-725-3151 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific time Monday through Friday. The private labeler is Guangzhou Ao Lian Ya Wang Luo Ke Ji You Xian Gong Si, doing business as Workbless, based in China.

Sold across major retailers for over a year

The washers appeared at Amazon.com, BestBuy, Kohls and Lowe's. Overstock and Target also carried them. Walmart stocked them as well. Sales ran from April 2025 through July 2026. Prices ranged between $97 and $140.

Announcement came August 20, 2026 under number 26-715. No injuries have been reported.

What the notice leaves open

The document does not explain how the units passed initial safety review. It does not describe the testing that revealed the defect. It does not state whether Workbless will modify the design for future production. The refund amount is not specified beyond "full refund." The disposal method for the destroyed product is not detailed.
