Why Are 179,739 Finger Lights Being Recalled Over Battery Access?
The recall covers Cade California Electronic Projecting Finger Light Toys sold on Amazon for over a decade. Owners must stop using them immediately and request a refund.

The Toy And Its Battery Compartment
A finger light slips onto a fingertip like a ring. The version under recall comes in a box of fifty pieces colored white, blue, red and green. Each unit contains three button cell batteries. The package front carries the words “California Cade Electronic” and “Finger Flashlights.”
The hazard is not the light itself. The hazard is the battery compartment. Children can open it without tools. The mandatory toy safety standard requires that button cells stay locked behind a screw or similar fastener. This product does not meet that requirement.
What The Standard Demands
Button cells measure roughly the diameter of a coin. When swallowed they lodge in the esophagus. Saliva triggers an electrical current that generates hydroxide. Tissue burns begin within two hours. The mandatory standard exists to prevent exactly this sequence.
The recall notice states the toys violate the standard because the batteries “can be easily accessed by children.” No injury reports have been filed. The violation alone triggers the recall.
The Sales Timeline And Scale
Amazon.com listed the product from March 2015 through July 2026. The price ranged between $5 and $16 per box. About 179,739 units entered U.S. homes during that window. The manufacturer is California Cade Electronic, LLC of Hacienda Heights, California. Production took place in China.
What Owners Must Do Now
Stop use. Remove the toys from children. Email ccecamazonservice@gmail.com for a full refund. The company will ask for a photo showing the lights in the trash. Local hazardous waste rules apply to the batteries themselves.
Recall number 26-761 carries the date September 10, 2026.
