Why Are 38,507 Jerify Magnetic Figures Being Recalled?

The CPSC has recalled Jerify Magnetic Humanoid Toy Sets because the magnets can detach and be swallowed by children. Two children have already been hospitalized after ingesting magnets from the limbs. About 38,507 sets were sold on Amazon between October 2022 and May 2026.

Thirty figures in a clear bag

Each set holds thirty small human-shaped figures. They stand 2.7 inches tall and measure 2.5 inches wide. The figures come in ten colors: brown, white, green, peach, yellow, pink, blue, orange, purple, and red. Magnets sit inside the hands and feet of every figure. There is no label on any figure. The set arrives in an unlabeled clear bag inside a brown box. A sticker on the box reads "Jerify" and "X003ADA3TD".

The mandatory toy standard requires that high-powered magnets stay fixed inside a toy. These sets violate that standard because the magnets can work loose. A child can pull a magnet out of a hand or foot. Once free, the magnet is small enough to swallow.

How the magnets escape

The magnets are not glued in place. They are not sonically welded. They sit in cavities molded into the plastic limbs. Normal play — bending an arm, snapping two figures together — stresses the plastic around each cavity. Over time the plastic fatigues. A crack forms. The magnet pops out. The recall notice says the sets "can liberate loose high-powered magnets." It does not describe a specific failure mode. It does not say how many cycles of play cause a magnet to free itself. The manufacturer is Hefei Hanchan Network Technology Co., Ltd., doing business as Colerinsec, in China. The retailer listed is Shenzhen Weihua Chenyu Technology Co., Ltd., doing business as Junkins, also in China.

What happens inside a child

High-powered magnets attract each other through tissue. If a child swallows more than one, or a magnet and another metal object, they can pinch the intestinal wall between them. The pressure cuts off blood flow. Tissue dies. The result can be perforations, twisting, blockage, blood poisoning, and death. Both known incidents involved children who removed magnets from the limbs and swallowed them. Both children were hospitalized. The notice gives no guidance for parents whose children may have swallowed magnets but show no symptoms yet. How many of the 38,507 sets remain in homes is not stated.

The refund process

Colerinsec is offering a full refund. Owners must take the toys away from children immediately. They must stop using the sets. They must email a photo of the discarded toys to coushdwugintwer@163.com. The recall notice does not say how long refunds take. It does not say whether Amazon will also issue refunds directly. Whether other marketplaces sold the same sets is not mentioned. The recall covers about 38,507 units. The recall number is 26-774. The recall date is September 17, 2026.
