How is Kazakhstan scaling its AI compute foundation with NVIDIA Vera Rubin infrastructure?

Kazakhstan is moving from AI infrastructure plans to actual deployment across its full technology stack. The shift means developers and companies in the region gain local access to accelerated computing for training and serving models.

Kazakhstan's largest telecommunications company has already placed advanced graphics processors in two major cities. Kazakhtelecom deployed 400 NVIDIA H200 and 480 NVIDIA B300 GPUs across Astana and Almaty.

The hardware sits in operational data centers today.

Enterprises, developers, and institutions can already use this infrastructure at scale. The deployment marks a transition from announced intentions to working capacity.

From hundreds to thousands in two regions

Next year the company plans to add more than 1,000 GPUs in the Data Center Valley. A separate deployment will bring more than 1,000 NVIDIA Vera Rubin GPUs to the Ekibastuz region. These installations will serve diverse workloads. The Vera Rubin architecture represents NVIDIA's next generation of accelerated computing. Its arrival in Kazakhstan signals that the country is not waiting for older technology to mature. The Ekibastuz site will run workloads that demand the newest silicon.

Robotaxi collaboration tests the stack

inDrive and Pony.ai are collaborating to explore robotaxi services in Kazakhstan. Astana will serve as the first deployment city. The companies will assess the feasibility of bringing Pony.ai's seventh-generation robotaxis to the inDrive app. The vehicles rely on NVIDIA AI infrastructure built on the NVIDIA Hyperion sensor and compute platform. The NVIDIA Halos safety system provides the functional safety layer. This stack connects perception, planning, and control in a single integrated platform.

Local compute capacity gives developers room to train, fine-tune, and serve increasingly capable models. Successful applications create demand for more compute. The cycle reinforces itself.

Beyond silicon counts

Connecting infrastructure with developers, universities, startups, and industries turns accelerated computing into useful applications. Today's announcements represent different layers of that stack — infrastructure deployment, access to compute, and AI-native product development advancing together.

The foundation is reaching new scale. How quickly the ecosystem absorbs this capacity will determine what comes next.
