What new features does Waze add for Breast Cancer Awareness Month?

Waze is a navigation app used by drivers worldwide. This October it adds tools that show screening clinics and risk questionnaires directly on the map.

A pink car on the screen

Drivers everywhere can switch their vehicle icon to a custom pink car.

The change is purely visual and works in every country where Waze operates. No extra steps are required beyond opening the settings menu and selecting the new icon. The pink car stays visible for the whole month.

Screening centers appear on the map in the United States

In the U.S. Waze has partnered with National Breast Cancer Foundation. Thousands of screening centers now appear as searchable destinations. A driver types a query or taps a category button and the app displays nearby locations with addresses and hours. Navigation to any of them starts with a single tap. The partnership covers the entire country and the data refreshes automatically while the feature is live.

Israeli drivers see clinics and receive email questionnaires

In Israel the partner is One in Nine. The app shows nearby breast health clinics on the map the same way it shows gas stations or parking lots. When a driver taps a clinic icon an option appears to send an email with quick access to risk assessment questionnaires. The email arrives in the inbox linked to the Waze account. The questionnaires are hosted by the partner organization not by Waze itself.

Voice guidance from a comedian

Adi Ashkenazi recorded prompts that play during navigation and remind the driver to schedule routine screenings. The voice pack is optional and can be enabled or disabled in the sound settings. It replaces the standard turn-by-turn voice for the duration of October.

Availability depends on app version

These features are live now and will be available throughout October. To access them a user must download the latest version of Waze on Android or iOS. Older versions will not display the pink car icon the clinic pins or the voice pack. The update is distributed through the normal app store channels. No separate registration or subscription is required.
