What smart lights did Aqara add to its Matter over Thread lineup at IFA 2026?
Aqara has announced five new smart lights at IFA 2026 in Berlin. Each one works with Matter over Thread or Zigbee, giving owners a choice between broad ecosystem compatibility and deeper Aqara Home integration.
Five lights, two protocols, one standard
Five new smart lights debuted at IFA 2026 in Berlin. Each one works with Matter over Thread or Zigbee. The dual-protocol approach lets owners pick the path that fits their setup. Thread connects directly to a Matter border router such as a recent HomePod or Apple TV. Zigbee keeps the lights inside the Aqara ecosystem where sensors, switches, and hubs can trigger them without leaving the Aqara Home app. Both radios live in the same hardware. No separate SKUs exist for each protocol.
The Floor Lamp T1 washes walls instead of floors
The Floor Lamp T1 stands 1,420mm tall. Its side-emitting design throws light onto a nearby wall rather than straight down. A 16-bit five-channel lighting chip drives 18 individually controllable zones. Gradients, animations, and multicolour effects run across those zones. Adjustable white spans 2,000K to 9,000K. Maximum output reaches 1,000 lumens. The lamp also responds to Aqara sensors and switches for presence-based automation.
Downlight T2 fits where others cannot
An ultra-thin profile lets the LED Downlight T2 sit in shallow ceilings. Two versions will ship. An RGB CCT model delivers 16 million colours plus tunable white from 2,000K to 9,000K. A CCT-only model skips colour and pushes brightness to 1,200 lumens. Power-off memory restores the previous state after a mains interruption. Both versions share the same Matter, Thread, and Zigbee stack as the rest of the range.
Strip T2 brings 18 zones every three metres
One hundred eight LEDs per metre pack the LED Strip T2. The same 16-bit five-channel technology appears here. Every three-metre section offers 18 independently controllable zones. Multiple colours and gradients can sit side by side on a single run. The strip can be trimmed for cabinets, shelving, and other indirect applications. Music-reactive effects are built in. Aqara Home users also gain AI-powered scene generation: describe the mood in natural language and the app builds a matching scene.
Outdoor String Lights H1 and Permanent Outdoor Lights H1 stay outside year round
The Outdoor String Lights H1 bring the multizone approach to patios, terraces, and balconies. Individually controllable zones combine with weather-resistant construction. Adjustable white runs 2,000K to 9,000K alongside full colour. Gen-Scene creates coordinated effects across zones. Automations can illuminate a path after dark or change lighting when a security event fires. The Permanent Outdoor Lights H1 target rooflines and architectural accents. Individual LEDs are addressable. The system extends and can be cut to match different rooflines. Weatherproofing is rated for permanent installation. Both outdoor families support Matter, Thread, and Zigbee so control is not locked to Aqara Home.
A community platform for projects and automations
Aqara Builder launches as a global community platform. Enthusiasts, developers, installers, integrators, and creators can share real-world projects, automation ideas, and design inspiration. AI-assisted tools will help users turn shared ideas into personalised automation scenarios. The platform is being demonstrated alongside the new lighting hardware at IFA 2026 in Berlin.
Pricing and release dates remain unannounced
No pricing or launch timing has been disclosed for any of the five lights. All products are on display at Hall 1.2, Booth 157 during IFA 2026.
