What can Neural Dawn show on phones with the new Mali G2-Ultra NX GPU?
Neural Dawn is a mobile game you can download today. It runs on five new phones and tablets that share a new graphics processor from Arm.
What you can play today
Neural Dawn is a mobile game developed by Arm and Sumo. It is downloadable now on five devices that just launched.
The hardware that makes it run
The OPPO Find X10 Pro Max and the vivo X500 Pro and Pro Max smartphones use the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset. The Xiaomi 18 Fold smartphone and the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max tablet use the Xiaomi XRING O3 chipset. Both chipsets integrate the Mali G2-Ultra NX GPU. That GPU is the hardware foundation for Arm Neural Technology.
James McNiven, Vice President of Client Computing, Edge AI at Arm, wrote the announcement dated October 29, 2026. The post appeared on the Arm Newsroom blog. Arm calls Neural Dawn the first game to showcase Arm Neural Technology together with Unreal Engine MegaLights. The combination brings cinematic lighting, ray tracing, and neural graphics into a complete mobile experience.
How the graphics pipeline changes the game
The Mali G2-Ultra NX GPU includes dedicated neural acceleration inside the graphics pipeline. That hardware enables three capabilities at once. Neural Super Sampling reconstructs higher resolution visuals. Neural Frame Rate Upscaling produces smoother motion. Denoising cleans up ray-traced scenes as part of the same Neural Super Sampling and Denoising system. All three operate within mobile power constraints.
In Neural Dawn, players control a research scientist exploring a vast cave network. Light becomes the core mechanic. It reveals clues, guides exploration, and brings environments to life. Unreal Engine MegaLights delivers ray-traced lighting that creates dynamic shadows and dramatic illumination. The result is a mobile adventure where lighting shapes storytelling and gameplay.
Andy Stewart, CEO of Sumo, said the project let his team treat neural graphics as part of the development process rather than a technology added at the end. The team explored new storytelling opportunities using cinematic lighting and new visual experiences while staying inside a mobile power budget. The quote appears in the Arm announcement.
Where the technology goes next
Support for neural graphics is expanding across the mobile game ecosystem. Unity China is integrating Arm Neural Technology into its Tuanjie Engine. A new version with Neural Super Sampling was recently announced. That brings NSS into familiar game-development workflows. Arm also supports Unreal Engine and custom Vulkan-based engines through the Arm Neural Graphics Development Kit.
Several studios are validating the technology in production. Infold Games is working on Infinity Nikki. Tencent Games' MagicDawn team is integrating Arm Neural Technology into MagicDawn and demonstrating it with real game content. NetEase Games is supporting adoption in Where Winds Meet. Sumo continues collaboration with Arm.
The announcement describes this as the beginning. As Arm Neural Technology reaches more silicon, engines, and studios, developers will have new opportunities to deliver richer, more immersive, cinematic gaming experiences on mobile.
