What does the Aliro standard mean for access control systems?
A webinar scheduled for October 22, 2026 will explain the Aliro standard developed within the Connectivity Standards Alliance. Allegion sponsors the session and will show how the standard connects locks, readers, and software without custom integration work.
A webinar date and what it covers
The live event starts at 2:00 PM Eastern Time on Thursday, October 22, 2026. Central Time viewers join at 1:00 PM. Pacific Time viewers join at 11:00 AM.
Registration is free. A certificate of attendance goes to anyone who stays for the full session. The recording will be available on demand shortly after the live broadcast. The notice does not list which lock models or reader families will support Aliro first. It does not give a timeline for firmware updates or new hardware releases.
Who speaks
Brian Telljohann leads partner solutions software at Allegion. He built the Yonomi integration platform and the company's mobile apps. Before that he spent more than a decade designing electronic locks and RFID readers. He holds several patents in wireless lock technology. An MBA from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Rose‑Hulman round out his background.
Alisha Saiyed manages mobile credentials at Allegion. She chairs the Aliro Marketing and Product Sub Group inside the Connectivity Standards Alliance. Her computer‑science background sits at the intersection of physical security and IoT.
What the standard tries to solve
Physical security has become a software business. The same ideas that reshaped IT — interoperability, digital identity, cryptographic authentication, Zero Trust, trusted data — now apply at the door. Aliro aims to deliver seamless interoperability without weakening security. The webinar will outline the standard, show tangible customer outcomes Allegion is building with it, and explain how to prepare and what to ask vendors. Pricing for Aliro‑enabled credentials is not mentioned. The number of installers already trained on the platform is not disclosed.
