What changes when you open a new tab in Microsoft Edge today?

Microsoft Edge has a new new-tab page. It shows articles, videos, and AI summaries picked for your interests.

A page that now learns what you follow

The new tab page in Edge has been rebuilt. Microsoft says the goal is to cut through noise with stories that make sense of the world from sources people trust. The redesign went live on November 5, 2026. It appears both when you open a new tab on desktop and when you open the Discover dashboard from the Windows taskbar.

Recommendations now weigh relevance, freshness, and quality more heavily. The system tries to reflect what is happening in the world and what matches your interests. This past summer the approach powered an immersive World Cup experience viewed more than 1.4 billion times.

Publishers, creators, and the video shift

Trusted reporting comes from 1,500 premium publishers. Names include USA TODAY, Business Insider, and PEOPLE. Fresh perspectives arrive from over 3,500 creators appearing alongside that reporting.

Video now accounts for more than 40% of all engagement on the platform. Partners publish more than 45,000 videos each day. The new layout gives video more prominent placement and recommendations.

Copilot summaries with attribution

Curated by Copilot expands in this release. It ships today. The feature uses AI to synthesize perspectives from multiple articles into one view shaped around what you care about. You can then explore the original reporting in more depth. Partners can manage their participation in AI Experiences at any time through the Partner Hub.

Where it works today and what comes next

The experience is available today in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, and India. You can follow topics and publishers to tailor what you see or adjust settings to customize the look and feel. In the coming months Microsoft plans a steady drumbeat of new features and a rollout to more countries and surfaces including mobile and MSN.com. The Bing.com homepage will also receive the experience over time.
