Why did Baby Brezza recall 29,000 sterilizer dryers?

The Baby Brezza SuperFast Sterilizer Dryer sits on a countertop and promises to sterilize and dry baby bottles in ten minutes. About 29,000 units sold in the United States can overheat while plugged in, creating a burn risk if someone touches the housing.

Three model numbers and where to find them

The recall covers three specific model numbers. They are BRZ0083 and BRZ0154. The third is BRZ0156. Each number is printed on a label attached to the bottom of the unit. No other Baby Brezza models appear in the notice.

What the overheating actually does

The appliance can overheat when it is plugged in and running. The plastic housing may melt. If a person handles the hot surface, a burn injury becomes possible. The firm has received 32 reports of overheating or melting housings. No injuries have been reported.

The replacement process requires destroying the unit

Consumers must stop using the dryer immediately. They register at the Baby Brezza recall page and complete a form. Then they unplug the product and cut the power cord. Photos of the model label go to recall@babybrezza.com. Photos of the destroyed appliance and the return authorization number go to the same address. After uploading the images, the unit should be disposed of according to local and state ordinances. A free replacement ships at no cost.

Sales channels and price range

The dryers were sold at TJ Maxx and Marshall's stores nationwide. They were also available online at babybrezza.com, target.com and babylist.com. The sales window ran from January 2024 through October 2026. Prices ranged between $160 and $180.

What the reports show so far

Thirty-two incident reports exist in the company's records. Each describes overheating or a melting housing. The notice does not say how many of the 29,000 units remain in active use. It also does not describe the exact temperature the housing reaches during a failure. The recall number is 27-072.
