3D printing
Filament, nozzles, adhesion and print safety: what actually determines the result.
What are Prusament pellets and why does Prusa sell them in 14-kilogram bags?
Prusa Research now sells the same polymer pellets it uses for its own filament in packages as small as 3.5 kilograms. Until now, buyers had to order hundreds of kilos or settle for unknown quality from random suppliers.
What did parents actually test before giving Bambu Lab two 2026 awards?
Bambu Lab makes 3D printers for home use. In October 2026 the company announced two parenting awards for its P2S model.
Why does 3D printing filament have to be kept dry?
Plastic pulls water out of the air, and in a hot nozzle that water boils and tears the melt apart from the inside. Hence the crackling, the fine strings, the part that splits along a layer. Manufacturers print both a drying temperature and a humidity limit, and those numbers show why a spool dried yesterday is ruined by today.
Why Does the LANCHEZ Pressure Washer Recall Require Cutting the Power Cord?
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of 329 LANCHEZ electric pressure washers sold online between February and June 2026. The units lack a built-in ground-fault circuit interrupter and a power cord long enough to reach an outlet without an extension cord, creating a shock and electrocution hazard.
What does Prusa's new ColorMix filament bundle actually let you print?
Prusa Research has released a filament bundle built for its ColorMix software feature. The set uses semi-translucent PLA in five base colors plus two glitter options to produce 45 distinct shades on printers with five or more toolheads.
What changed in Bambu Lab printer security after a year of bug bounties and certifications?
Bambu Lab marked one year since launching its Trust Center in October 2025. The company added new certifications, a public security update log, and expanded its bug bounty program to over 100 researchers.
Why does a 3D printer go wrong exactly at the corners?
The head slows into a turn and the melt does not: pressure in the nozzle falls more slowly than the speed changes. A small bead lands on the outside of the corner, and the wall a few millimetres later comes out thin. Klipper and Marlin both correct it with a term proportional to velocity, not to distance.
What does PrusaSlicer 3.0 change for someone who prepares prints daily?
Prusa Research released the first public preview of PrusaSlicer 3.0 on September 1, 2026. The rewrite touches every part of the application that a person uses to turn a model into G-code.
What happens when 50 students get 3D printers and a mandate to teach?
Bambu Lab picked 50 students across North America to teach 3D printing in their communities. The program launched in May 2026 and runs through May 2027.
Why did the CPSC recall Workbless pressure washers for shock and electrocution risks?
A pressure washer plugs into a wall outlet and pushes water at high pressure. The CPSC has recalled two Workbless models because they ship without a built-in ground-fault circuit interrupter and with a power cord too short for safe outdoor use.
Why does a 3D printer nozzle stop holding its size?
Printing plastic can be a fifth to a quarter glass or carbon by weight, and on their way out those hard particles sand the hole in the nozzle: it grows and stops being round. The program that prepares the print, meanwhile, computes every extrusion width from a number somebody typed in by hand.
